Screenprinted Homes

Spring 2026

The end goal of this project is to display a neighborhood that evokes a sense of nostalgia and whimsy — a colorful, bombastic journey the eye can’t ignore. As a kid with unmedicated ADHD, I spent countless hours staring out the car window, imagining the lives and stories hidden in the places we passed. Certain stops became favorites; others lingered as mysteries never visited. I drifted through my hometown in a state of dissociated coziness, letting my mind wander far beyond the backseat.

Now, as a more cynical and jaded adult, suburbia no longer holds the same magic. What once felt wondrous now reads as ordinary. This work is an attempt to reclaim that lost perspective and to relive the feeling of cruising down old streets on a summer day, with a loose plan to meet friends and have a fun night out, as long as we made it home before 8 p.m.
